  Founded as STRAPPINGS LIMITED, supplying wire strapping, and based in Central London.

• 1939-45

  Supplies tensional strapping wire and equipment to war ministries during WWII.

• 1950

  Adds high tensile steel band strapping and tools to product range.

• 1961

  Company name changes to GORDIAN STRAPPING LTD.

• 1965

  Adds polypropylene strapping and tools to product range.

• 1971

  Becomes sole UK & Ireland distributor for Strapack Corp, a world leading producer of strapping machines.

• 1976

  Acquires PAKORD LTD (rayon & polypropylene strapping manufacturing).

• 1984

  Establishes partnership with OMS Italy, a world leading manufacturer of pallet strapping, wrapping and hooding equipment.

• 1985

  Automatic strapping machine features in the James Bond Film ‘ A View to a Kill’
  starring Roger Moore.

• 1987

  Relocates to Basingstoke in Hampshire.

  Adds polyester strapping to product range.

• 1993

  Adds stretch film to product range.

• 1994

  Launches the RQ-8 Automatic Strapper; destined to become the industry benchmark on account of its robustness and reliability.

• 1995

  Gordian becomes part of StraPack Corp.

Established in 1937 and now based in Basingstoke, Gordian Strapping is a division of the StraPack Corporation. Founded in Japan in 1933, the StraPack Corporation is a world leader in the manufacture of strapping machines. Gordian Strapping also has a partnership of over 25 years with Italian based OMS who were established in 1949 and are now a European market leader in the design and manufacture of pallet strapping, stretch wrapping and stretch and shrink hooding equipment and systems.
