INTERESTING FACT: Semi-Auto strappers generally run strap from 5mm to 12mm. Nowadays most strap is produced using PP or PET (both recyclable), however this has only been the case from the 1990’s. Before plastic strap became available (in the 1960’s), Woven or Steel strap were the main materials used.

Stretch hooding uses 25-30% less film per pack than shrink hooding to wrap the same product (based on the same gauge of film) due to the stretching process, which means less packaging waste.
Did you know? Stretch Hooders DO NOT use gas burners unlike Shrink Hooding which involves applying a heat shrinkable bag to a pack by using hot air emitted from gas burner. More on stretch hooding to follow … Picture above shows a stretch hooded fridge
