Gordian Strapping has supplied three OMS Pallet Strapping Machines to William Rainford (Holdings) Ltd., Aintree, part of Thomas Armstrong (Holdings) Ltd.
Established in 1830, Thomas Armstrong has over 180 years of expertise and growth in construction services and in the manufacture of quality building products. The Group has interests in Aggregates, Concrete Products, Timber and Renewable Energy and is headquartered in Flimby. Companies within the Group include ACP (Concrete), Barnetts of Buglawton and Stocks Blocks.
In 2014 the existing production capacity at William Rainford was increased with the addition of a new KVM block making line and Gordian supplied 3 OMS strapping machines. 1 x 08RP Twin Head Vertical Strapper; 1 x 08RP Single Head Vertical Strapper and 1 x 06RP Horizontal Strapper. Both the vertical machines are equipped with side shift technology.
The solid reputation of the OMS equipment, along with a dedicated team of 13 service engineers strategically based across the UK made Gordian Strapping an ideal partner.
The OMS TR19HT and TR14HD Strapping Heads are designed for use with Polyester Strapping, and are proven in the toughest working environments within the building products industry. The Heat Seal technology in the Strapping Heads means that a full service is only required every 200,000 cycles. The heads are compatible with a variety of different strap grades. Features include: auto strap loading, auto strap re-feed, strap in place signal and automatic heater blade cleaning.
“We were impressed with the build quality and performance of the OMS machines. Gordian’s ability to support the machines with local service engineers was also an important factor in our decision making process” Graham Atkinson, Group Production Manager.
